It seems that technological advances are constantly forcing us to change the way we approach certain things in life. One of those changes is "The Warbler", our beloved club newsletter...
A printed newsletter was distributed among club members for numerous years, while it provided a great form of communication...it lacked the power that new technology allowed for. Mike took it upon himself to overhaul the old printed newsletter format. He introduced an electronic version that he had created from powerpoint and then distributed via email and our website. The format allowed Mike to use his creativity; all the pictures, sounds and graphics added a little more flavour to the articles. Unfortunately they also added on more megabytes and caused issues with distributing via email. The time and effort that he was putting in could not be fully appreciated by all of our members.
So a change had to be made to keep "The Warbler" relevant with today's technology. I take great pleasure in introducing to you the latest format of our newsletter in blog form! There are plenty of benefits of using a blog for our latest news and results, best of all is accessibility. Our blog can be accessed using the http://www.ywpac.blogspot.com on your computer or phone!
Another great thing is that the reader can leave comments about the articles. So if you have something relevant to share about a specific article, whether you agree or disagree, you will have the opportunity to do so on the blog itself. No more waiting until wednesday night to give your opinion about something you have read, you'll be able to post it straight away (before you forget!).
